Mulan

Disney's Animated Mulan is produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation, and was released by Walt Disney Pictures on June 19, 1998. This is 36th animated feature film and part of the Disney Renaissance. This is based on the Chinese legend, Hua Mulan.

The legend of Hua Mulan tells the story of young woman who disguised herself as a man to take the place of her old father to join the army, without him knowing. The story can be traced back to the Ballad of Mulan. She was estimated to have lived in 386-534 during the Northern Wei dynasty. Her heroic act is made her one of the most China's greatest heroes.

Moreover, this is the first of the three produced at the animation studio at Disney-MGM studios in Orlando, Florida. Its genres are Animation, Adventure, Drama, Family, and Musical. Disney Mulan has the tagline of 'The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all.'

It has been directed by Tony Bancroft, and Barry Cook. This was produced by Pam Coats and written by Robert D. San Souci and Rita Hsiao. The voice cast are composed of Ming-Na, Eddie Murphy, B.D. Wong, Miguel Ferrer, Harvey Fierstein, Beth Fowler, and George Takei.

This was also known as China Doll (USA) for its working title. Also known as the Legend of Mulan (USA). The budget for this was $70,000,000 and the gross revenue is $304,320,254.

The aspect ratio is 1.66: 1 and is done in Technicolor. The sound mixes are in DTS, Dolby Digital and SDDS.1 This was followed in 2005 by Mulan II.

Music was by Jerry Goldsmith. This was distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. The release date was June 19, 1998 and running time is 90 minutes. Languages are in both English and Mandarin.
